Mystery Gun

My Dad, Ralph, lived in Rigby for a short time as a youth but dropped out of high school and returned to Midvale where he lived with one of his brothers and went to work at Kennecott Copper Mine. He didn't think any of the kids in Rigby remembered him, consequently, he was thrilled one year to receive an invitation to a Rigby High School Reunion. He attended the reunion and really enjoyed himself.

On the way home, Dad stopped at the rest stop at Malad Pass. As he got back into his car he noticed something under the driver's seat. It was a gun! Dad didn't own any guns. He had no idea if this one was put in the car at the rest stop or somewhere else during his trip. He stopped at Malad and turned it in at the Police station. As far as I know he never followed up with them to see if they identified it.

My curiosity would have pushed me to call them if it had been me.
