Little House on the Prairie

As a child I read the Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder and loved them. I wanted to learn to do many of the things she talked about. I decided that if she could do things at a young age, my kids could also. As Heather grew up I taught her to do things at a younger age than her friends were learning them. I learned skills at girl's camps and Dennis and I installed a wood burning stove in our home, which was wonderful. And of course, I had a horse for several years, so I had some experience there. I've been happy learning these survival skills, but was still lacking. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to learn to hitch a horse to a wagon or whatever and drive it.

On May 6, 2017 Judge Bill Woodland (who is a member of the Spanish Branch) taught me to hitch his Percheron horse to his buckboard and let me drive'her. Wow!! I can die happy, now.
